The revamped trade show reveals the construction solutions of the future
The new era of Beyond Building Barcelona-Construmat
DAfter more than 30 years, Fira de Barcelona’s International Construction Show is embarking on a new phase to adapt to the needs of companies in the sector. The show is now known as Beyond Building Barcelona-Construmat and is focusing on innovation, design, sustainability and building renovation.
Now in its nineteenth edition, the show, which takes place on 19-23 May at the Gran Via venue, will be exhibiting products, processes and materials for the construction industry of the future, as well as the latest trends in digital design, the Internet of Things (IoT), BIM technology (Building Information Modelling), sustainable construction in terms of energy efficiency, and building renovation.
Beyond Building Barcelona-Construmat will also be presenting 217 new-build or building renovation projects for development in Spain or abroad, primarily in Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, Peru and Argentina.
The trade-only event is also hosting an extensive programme of seminars featuring top-level experts such as Skylar Tibbits, Research Scientist at MIT’s Department of Architecture, and Alastair Parvin, the British architect and co-founder of the open-source Wikihouse project.
