Piscina & Wellness Barcelona 2015 features new dates and a brand new name and image

The next edition of Piscina & Wellness Barcelona will be held on 13-16 October 2015 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via Exhibition Centre, one week ahead of the initially planned date in order to adapt to the trade show calendar and thus attract a larger number of exhibitors and visitors. Bringing the date forward comes along with a brand new name and image to strengthen the show’s connection with a demand sector that is looking for water-related facilities and uses associated with health, wellbeing and leisure.

By bringing the dates forward and implementing this new approach -which reflects the recommendations of the Spanish sector association ASOFAP and the leading companies in this market in Spain – Piscina & Wellness Barcelona hopes to increase its already significant pulling power which, with 62% of exhibitors and 37% of visitors coming from abroad, has established itself as one of the world’s top events in the sector, featuring a full range of aquatic facilities and installations.
“Our show is attended by exhibitors and trade professionals from around 100 different countries with an interest in the Spanish swimming pool market -the second largest in Europe and fourth biggest in the world- and in the event’s export connections with the Mediterranean Arc and Latin America. This is why, event after event, we try to adapt as fully as possible to market needs so we can provide new business opportunities and consolidate a recovery that has already begun,” confirms the president of the show’s organizing committee and chief executive of Fluidra, Eloi Planes.
In this respect, and in view of the increase in demand associated with wellbeing, Piscina & Wellness Barcelona 2015 has included this aspect in the show’s name and will be promoting it strongly in its offering. “Water is the lifeblood of our sector and its new uses, which combine relaxation, sport, leisure, pleasure and health, are transforming the market and driving its growth,” explains the show’s director, Josep Jonàs. “This aspect is highlighted in the show’s new image, with drops of water representing the areas of swimming pool, wellness and aquatic facilities, all converging in a global event which is sure to boost the business activity of the sector as a whole,” concludes Jonàs.
Thus the show will be taking advantage of the strength of the Spanish tourism industry -the third biggest in the world- to present to hotels, campsites, rural guesthouses, spa resorts and wellness centres a huge range of small and medium-sized hydrotherapy pools, hydrothermal equipment, accessories and aquatic recreational facilities with which to upgrade their establishments and offer their customers new experiences.
Meanwhile, with 16,000 swimming pools installed in 2014 -double the figure of the ‘crisis years’- the Spanish market is a key driver for national and international manufacturers, constructors and distributors of swimming pools, water treatment products and systems, components and accessories. At the show, exhibitors will be showcasing solutions for the construction of new swimming pools and the renovation and maintenance of a pool stock which, in Spain, exceeds 1.2 million units, promoting the utmost energy efficiency, comfort and practicality and optimizing their integration in the environment.
Knowledge, innovation and business
Apart from setting up business rounds and meetings between exhibitors and buyers from over 20 different countries to promote exports, Piscina & Wellness Barcelona will also host congresses, conferences and seminars, notably the second edition of the Wellness & Spa Experiences Event, featuring case studies, market research surveys and the latest trends and ideas in the management, design and sale of products and experiences in the wellbeing industry.
Piscina & Wellness Barcelona will also include a new products area, featuring all the top products presented by exhibitors, plus a dynamic demo zone for recreating aquatic and wellness facilities, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. A brand new complementary area is the Innovation Zone, where technology centres, universities, start-ups and sector associations will explain their prototypes and projects to investors and companies working in the aquatic sector. The event also plays host to the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona Awards, which recognise the most innovative and sustainable products in the sector of swimming pools, wellness centres and aquatic facilities.
