Fira de Barcelona puts on its wedding finery

Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via Exhibition Centre is hosting a new edition of Barcelona Bridal Week on 5-10 May, one of the benchmark events in the bridal fashion sector which includes the Gaudí Novias catwalk show and the Noviaespaña trade fair. Now in its twenty-fifth year, the event showcases the latest fashions and accessories from the leading brands.

Barcelona Bridal Week is holding its most international-ever event this year with the USA as guest country and an exceptional guest designer: Katharine Polk, the Californian founder of contemporary bridal fashion and ready-to-wear brand Houghton.

The event kicks off with the Gaudí Novias catwalk shows between 5 and 8 May. Some 23 Spanish and international firms will be showcasing their new Spring/Summer 2016 collections, including Rosa Clará, Jesús Peiró, Yolan Cris and Pronovias.

This is followed by the international trade fair Noviaespaña on 8-10 May, exhibiting the latest fashions for brides and grooms along with occasion wear and accessories from more than 200 brands, 50% of which are from abroad, including Germany, Belgium, France, UK, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, South Korea, Poland, Turkey, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil.
