Fira de Barcelona hosts the press centre for the Pope’s visit to Catalonia
The only international press centre for Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Catalonia has been set up in Hall 1 at the Montjuïc venue. Covering an area of 14,000 square metres, the facility will host around 2,000 journalists from all over the world and will be operational from 8 to 11 June. Fira de Barcelona will become a key hub for media coverage of a historic event for the city with significant international visibility.
The press centre, organised by the Archdiocese of Barcelona, offers around 800 simultaneous workstations and is equipped with a large-format 7 x 3 metre screen providing high-quality video feeds, six radio booths, and several stand-up areas specially prepared for live broadcasts.
Beyond facilitating media coverage of the Pontiff’s events in the city, the venue is designed as a welcoming space for communication professionals and as a platform for promoting the culture and heritage of Barcelona and Catalonia through a programme of conferences and talks.
The facilities will be open continuously from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on June 8 and 9, and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 10 and 11.
