Sónar brings Fira the very best in electronic music

Fira de Barcelona is once again swaying to the rhythm of Sónar, one of the world’s leading festivals for electronic music and multimedia art. This edition, taking place between 16 and 18 June is split between the Montjuïc and Gran Via venues and brings together today’s top artists along with professionals from the creative industry.
Sónar concentrates its daytime programme at the Montjuïc venue and its night-time one at Gran Via. Amongst the 150-plus scheduled performances, some of the stars in this year’s line-up are the legendary group New Order, the French artist Jean-Michael Jarre and Britain’s Fatboy Slim. Also watch out for sessions by Ángel Molina, Richie Hawtin, Four Tet, Laurent Garnier, Kenny Dope, as well as the debut of Anohni and the launch of a work based on climate change performed by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC), amongst many others.
Taking place at a professional level will be a new edition of Sónar+D, the international congress on creativity, technology and the digital transformation of cultural industries which congregates experts from all over the world to present new projects in the spheres of music, interactive content and image.
