The show includes three sections of content to foster knowledge, innovation and business
iWater Barcelona comprises an industrial, technological and strategic think tank for the water sector
From 15 to 17 November, iWater Barcelona will be hosting three zones featuring activities and content of high technological, commercial and strategic value for the different stakeholders involved in the full water management cycle. As a complement to the trade fair, this new show organized by Fira de Barcelona will include an international forum of conferences to address some of the most important global challenges facing the sector, as well as an industrial and technical area and an innovation zone, known as hubs, with discussion forums and networking areas to analyse and share technical projects, innovative applications and new business models.
With its global vision, iWater Barcelona is intended as a meeting point for all the stakeholders who will define the evolution of the water sector, offering innovative high-tech solutions that effectively address challenges such as the efficient management of resources and infrastructures, the increase in water demand in a context of hydric stress, and new models of public-private collaboration.
This same philosophy will apply to the three activity spaces at the show which have been designed so that all visitors will find content tailored to their needs and interests and can take part in networking sessions.
The conference forum will address three main issues: resilience, governance and financing. Participants include top national and international experts, who will be contributing ideas, applicable advances and a strategic sector-focused approach to overcome these challenges, bearing in mind both sustainability and the regulatory framework.
The forum will discuss issues such as the circular economy, water reuse, and new formulas and practices for dealing with water scarcity in a scenario of increased demand. It will also discuss the management of river basins, urban models, water and agriculture, the regulation of all these areas, as well as cost recovery and the financing of infrastructures.
Technical and innovation areas
There will also be two special knowledge areas set up at the show to support the trade fair: The Tech Hub will be the technical and technology forum for discussing solutions, presenting investment projects and examples of good practices, where exhibitors will have the chance to explain the benefits and uses of their new products.
Meanwhile, the Inno Hub will encompass R&D&I projects and promote contacts and knowledge transfer between companies, technology centres and universities, with a particular emphasis on trends, business models and entrepreneurship in the water industry. In this respect, iWater Barcelona is preparing an Open Innovation Market-Place which will attract investors interesting in finding out about new projects, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
These three activity areas will be located in Hall 4 alongside the trade show area where you can find solutions for the extraction, treatment, distribution, storage, recycling, reuse, irrigation, management and the agricultural, industrial and domestic use of water, amongst other uses.

The objectives of iWater Barcelona include promoting genuine business opportunities for participating companies, attracting visitors and buyers from the domestic market and other priority countries, especially from Latin America, the Mediterranean area and the Middle East. In doing so, iWater Barcelona will also benefit from the synergies of being held on the same dates and in the same venue as the Smart City Expo World Congress, the benchmark international event for smart cities; European Utility Week, the leading platform for the energy sector; and the Circular Economy Summit, a brand new event for discussing trends in the efficient use of resources.
