Hostelco 2024 is getting started with a focus on sustainability, competitiveness and business

Hostelco, the leading trade show in Spain for Restaurant, Hospitality and Catering Equipment and one of the main events in Europe in its field, is already gearing up for its next edition from 12 to 15 March 2024 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, where it will bring together the most comprehensive range of innovative solutions for the whole Horeca channel value chain. The trade show will join forces with Restaurama, the Alimentaria trade fair focused on catering and food services for out-of-home consumption, with the goal of strengthening its competitiveness and sustainability through the latest developments in innovation, technology, business and design.

Hostelco and Alimentaria have started preparing to be the leading platform once again for the food, drink and equipment industries in March 2024. To do so, Hostelco will strengthen its partnership with Restaurama even further in its upcoming edition, with the goal of bringing together everything exhibitors have to offer the Horeca channel and thus generate new business and networking opportunities.

The event will showcase the latest innovations to address the industry’s main goals, such as saving energy, achieving sustainability and improving the customer experience. To do so, in addition to the latest equipment and machinery for the hospitality industry, the event will feature accessories, household goods and table service; equipment and products for coffee, baked goods and pastries; a wide range of interior design, decoration, well-being, textile and furniture items, and the latest technological solutions for the hospitality and catering industries. Restaurama will contribute products and services related to catering and food services for out-of-home consumption, thus creating a comprehensive trade show focused on the Horeca channel.

“The fact that we are bringing together equipment, machinery and food service in one place devoted to the Horeca channel offers us the chance to multiply business opportunities in a market that’s highly important for the Spanish economy,” says Hostelco director Mar Santarrufina. “The results we’ve seen so far support this approach, and so we’ll continue to strengthen our partnership with Restaurama to offer value propositions and contribute to the growth of the industry.”

In this regard, the combination of Hostelco and Restaurama, in its latest edition, saw a total of 556 exhibitors, 31% international, occupying over 22,360 m2, attracting 49,000 professional visitors from the Horeca channel, 73% of them purchasing decision-makers from the restaurant, distribution, trade, contract, accommodation and catering industries. These include 620 international buyers invited directly by the organisation as part of its appeal and loyalty programme for strategic buyers. 80% of all visitors interested in Hostelco and Restaurama’s offerings defined the leading trade show for the food service and Horeca industries as a ‘can’t-miss’ event.

Alimentaria and Hostelco, a successful alliance
The latest edition of the Alimentaria & Hostelco platform brought together over 3,000 exhibiting companies from 57 countries, 29% international, attracting a total of 100,000 visitors, 23% international, representing 150 different nationalities. These numbers attest to the success of a platform that’s driving business, internationalisation and networking, and cements its place as a global leader in the industry.
