Fira de Barcelona to host the Advanced Maritime Technology Expo & Conference

The international event specializing in innovation and maritime technology, Advanced Maritime Technology (AMT) Expo & Conference, will take place at Fira de Barcelona from June 16 to 17, 2027. After being held in Amsterdam, the event will be hosted next year at the Montjuïc venue, further strengthening Barcelona’s position as a benchmark city for the blue economy and advanced maritime technologies.

Organized by UKi Media & Events, the exhibition emerges from the merger of the leading events Electric & Hybrid Marine and Autonomous Ship, with the aim of positioning itself as a new global hub for the sector. The platform will bring together companies, technology providers, research centers, institutions, and public sector representatives linked to the maritime industry in order to promote innovation, sustainability, and knowledge exchange.

The new event will arrive at Fira de Barcelona in June 2027 after being held in Amsterdam, where this year it will gather 120 companies and more than 3,200 professionals from the maritime industry.

Barcelona, a strategic environment for the maritime sector
The decision to move to Barcelona reflects the organization’s commitment to placing the event at the heart of a rapidly expanding maritime innovation ecosystem. While Amsterdam has played a key role in establishing AMT as a benchmark meeting point for the sector, the next phase of growth requires closer integration with new centers of investment, research, and industrial development.

Constantí Serrallonga, general manager of Fira de Barcelona, stated: “It is especially meaningful for us to host an event that will help reshape not only the future of maritime technology, but also our relationship with the seas. We are confident that our expertise and world-class venues will support the event’s growth and help establish Barcelona as its long-term home.”

Meanwhile, Roz Guanori, Portfolio Director at UKi Media & Events, highlighted: “Barcelona offers a unique combination of a leading international port, strong institutional support, and a rapidly expanding blue economy cluster. This move allows us to position AMT at the centre of that growth, creating new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and industry development.”

The change of venue has been well received by the sector’s leading stakeholders and is also supported by Barcelona’s City Council and the Port of Barcelona. In this new phase of the congress, the city strengthens its position as a global meeting point for maritime innovation and the development of sustainable ocean industries.
