Sónar will be hosting more than 300 activities, with the daytime programme concentrated in Montjuïc and the evening events at Gran Via, though events will also be held in venues in other parts of the city such as the Barcelona Centre of Contemporary Culture, La Virreina, the Auditorium, the Mercat de les Flors, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and the Juan Naranjo Gallery.
More than 140 concerts are planned, featuring 276 artists including Björk, Justice, Soulwax, Nicolas Jaar, DJ Shadow, Moderat, Eric Prydz and De La Soul.
Taking place at a professional level will be a new edition of Sónar+D, the international congress on creativity, technology and the digital transformation of cultural industries which congregates experts from all over the world to present new projects in the spheres of music, interactive content and image. Sónar+D is reaching out to a family audience with the inclusion of the Barcelona Maker Faire, featuring activities dedicated to engineering, electronics, robotics and 3D printing.
