Fira wins bronze in the category Best Overseas Conference Centre
Fira de Barcelona, among the winners at the M&IT Awards in the UK
Fira de Barcelona has won the bronze in the category “Best Overseas Conference Centre” at the M&IT Awards, the most important and prestigious awards in the events industry organised by the UK magazine Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine.
Fira received this prize in recognition of the great functionality of its Gran Via venue. Hall 8 was praised for its versatility in hosting any type of conferences; the environmental and sustainable management of the venue, which houses one of the largest roof-top solar power arrays; and for its technological features and connectivity.
In this category, the gold went to the Dublin Convention Centre and the silver to RAI Amsterdam.
The ceremony for these awards took place in London on 1 March in front of more than 1,200 sector professionals. The prize was collected on behalf of Fira de Barcelona by Rubén Dalmau, Director of External Trade Fairs, and Vanessa López and Meritxell Ferrer, External Business project managers.
