Around 30 Spanish companies take part in Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria Mexico

From 16 to 18 March, around 30 Spanish companies are taking part in the Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria Mexico, the most important food and retail trade fair in Latin America. The event represents some 2,400 firms from all over the world and expects to be visited by around 43,000 trade profssionals from 45 countries. 
The show, held in Guadalajara (Mexico), is the outcome of an agreement between ANTAD, the main retail association in Mexico, and Alimentaria Exhibitions, the Fira de Barcelona firm that organises Alimentaria, amongst other events.
At this edition, Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria Mexico is showcasing the latest trends in the sector with the presentation of over 600 new products and a notable international flavour, with exhibitors from China, South Korea, Portugal, Indonesia, Italy and Peru.
The Spanish ICEX pavilion comprises around 30 Spanish companies from Cordoba, Jaen, Barcelona, Ciudad Real, Madrid, Navarre, Álava, the Balearic Islands, Castellón, Cuenca, Girona, Granada, La Rioja, Pontevedra, Salamanca, Seville, Valencia, Valladolid and Zaragoza.
The purpose of this participation is to facilitate access to the Central American market, one of the leading destinations of Spanish agri-food exports, which last year exceeded 328 million euros, 33% more than in 2014 according to data from ICEX. Brandy (48.9 million euros), olive oil (47 million euros) and DO wines (32 million euros) were the most sought-after Spanish products in 2015 in the Mexican market.
