It brings together 28,000 experts at the Gran Via venue
ESMO 2019, Europe’s largest medical oncology conference
Fira de Barcelona for the first time hosts ESMO 2019, the most important congress in Europe dedicated to the latest advances against cancer. From 27th September to 1st October, it expects to bring together 28,000 specialists from all over the world at the Gran Via venue.
The conference, organised by the European Society for Medical Oncology(ESMO) in collaboration with the European Association for Cancer Research(EACR), is one of the most outstanding in the field of healthcare hosted by Fira de Barcelona this year.
It has a programme developed by 300 specialists in which innovative solutions in diagnosis, treatment and patient care are presented. Technological advances in cancer research and the exhibition area dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry are just two of the outstanding elements of this international event. It includes more than 280 conferences on, among other themes, the role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, early detection of cancer, immunotherapy and palliative care.
The conference organisers have chosen Barcelona as the venue for the 2019 edition “for the involvement of the city in cancer research and international cooperation in oncology”.
