Automobile Barcelona 2021 will be held in autumn

Automobile Barcelona, the International Motor Show organized by Fira de Barcelona, will hold its 41st edition from September 30th to October 10th at the Montjuïc venue. This has been agreed with the goal of ensuring the participation of the maximum number of automobile firms in a more favorable context for this industry, which is being affected by difficulties in the supply of some components, among other factors.

In this sense, the organization of the event trusts that its celebration next fall will be a definitive boost to the market due to the better economic and social context, and because the semiconductor crisis, which is currently impacting car manufacturing. The objective is to help boost activity at a key moment for the motor industry with the vehicle premieres and attractive commercial proposals for the large number of visitors that this event regularly registers.

The president of Automobile Barcelona, Enrique Lacalle, highlighted the importance for the industry of holding Automobile and the decision to move it to autumn. Along these lines, he highlighted that “the Barcelona show has been and will continue to be one of the outstanding events on the European calendar and an extraordinary commercial platform for brands. With the change of dates, we seek to guarantee our role as a great international automotive showcase and sales driver after a very complex period”.

The show will strengthen its commitment to innovation in the automotive sector, with digitization and decarbonization as the main themes of the new edition, it will stream vehicle premieres for journalists and professionals, and driving tests will be carried out as well as other activities related to the world of cars.

The biennial show is the only one in Spain with the international recognition of the OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles).
