Mexico Hospitality Expo boosts the hotel and restaurant business in Latam

The city of Guadalajara will host the Mexico Hospitality Expo (MHE) from 6 to 8 October. Organised by Fira de Barcelona, through its Hostelco brand, and Expo Guadalajara, the event with more than 200 companies, will bring together the equipment and services sector of the hotel and restaurant sector in Latin America. Its congress will feature more than 50 speakers and the professional agenda will include more than 800 business meetings.

Mexico Hospitality Expo expects to receive professionals from hotel chains; restaurants, cafeterias and franchises; spas and wellness centers; hospitals and health centers; gastronomy schools, and companies from the contract channel. Specifically, the event will feature companies and professionals from 13 countries: Mexico, Spain, the United States, Egypt, Turkey, Venezuela, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Panama and Ecuador.

In the 9,000 m2 of its exhibition area, solutions will be presented in equipment and machinery; technology; tableware and service; furniture, interior design and textiles; food and beverages; delivery, transport and services for the hotel and catering industry. In addition, more than 5,000 professionals and 800 business meetings are expected to be attended by the exhibitors themselves and the hosted buyers attending the show, including hotel owners and managers, purchasing and operations managers, restaurant and restaurant group executives, spa and wellness resort operators, as well as professional buyers from the HORECA channel.

More than 50 speakers

As for the congress part, the event brings together more than 50 speakers, including Braulio Arsuaga, CEO of Grupo Presidente, one of the main hotel groups in Mexico; Liliana Gutiérrez, representative of Marriott Hotels International; Jorge Zaragoza and Nicolás Martínez, directors of Accor; Cristian Varela, from NH Collection Mexico City; Brenda Olivares Banderas, from Grupo Xcaret; and William Rodríguez, former Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica and one of the most recognized voices in the sector in the region.

The program will also feature the participation of Alicia Silva Villanueva, founder of Revitaliza Consultores and international specialist in sustainable architecture, as well as representatives of leading hotel associations, including Gabriela Ferrucci, from the Association of Tourism Hotels of the Argentine Republic (AHT), and Juan Danieri, from the Hotel Industrial Association of Paraguay (AIHPY).

On the other hand, the agenda also includes parallel activities, including: the IV International Congress of the International Circle of Hotel Managers, an organization that celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026; the VIII International Meeting of Hospitality Design & Wellness: Mexico-Caribbean, organized by the Piscina Barcelona trade fair, the European fair with the greatest internationality on swimming pools, wellness and outdoor, and the meeting of the Mexican Association of Hotels.

Fira, global brand

Mexico Hospitality Expo is part of the programme of events that Fira de Barcelona organises outside Spain. This year’s events include the Smart City Expo editions in Santiago de Chile, Curitiba (Brazil), Santiago del Estero (Argentina), Santiago de Cali (Colombia) and Puebla (Mexico), as well as the Tomorrow.City in Shanghai and the United States, and a new Tomorrow.Blue Economy in Niterói (Brazil). In addition to all these events, the first edition of Argentina Alimenta, in Buenos Aires, is also added.
