Fashion shows and the trade show adopt distinct rhythms to give collections greater visibility and boost business activity
BBFW Connects Fashion, Business and Urban Edge to Redefine the Bridal Universe
From April 14 to 18, 2027, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) will again welcome the bridal universe at the Montjuïc venue with a renewed edition designed to reflect the way the global industry is evolving. Organised by Fira de Barcelona, the event will introduce strategic changes through a more clearly differentiated Fashion Shows and Trade Show format, while launching new content and professional networking platforms focused on the business of bridal fashion. In addition, BBFW will expand into the heart of Barcelona with three iconic evening runway shows that will connect bridal creativity with the contemporary art, architecture and culture of the Catalan capital.
The leading international event for bridal fashion continues its evolution, shaped by the ongoing dialogue it maintains with brands, domestic and international buyers, and key figures across the industry. This commitment to the sector will be further strengthened in 2027 through the creation of an International Advisory Board bringing together influential industry voices who will contribute fresh creative and business perspectives to the event.
“BBFW evolves at the same pace as fashion itself. We actively listen to designers, buyers and opinion leaders from every market to anticipate the forces transforming the bridal universe. Our purpose is to remain the industry’s leading global meeting point, where talent is celebrated, trends take shape and the bridal fashion sector builds its future with confidence,” says Albasarí Caro, Director of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week.
A New Rhythm for Fashion and Business
For 2027, BBFW will further reinforce the distinction between its inspirational and business platforms through a new calendar structure. Fashion Shows will take centre stage on 14 and 15 April in Hall 8 at the iconic Montjuïc venue, where more than twenty brands will unveil next season’s collections through runway presentations designed to highlight their creative vision.
The Trade Show will take place from 16 to 18 April in Halls 1 and 2, bringing together the leading brands of the international bridal industry and turning Barcelona into the sector’s premier commercial hub.
The new schedule allows buyers, media and industry professionals to focus first on the collections and runway presentations before shifting their attention to business meetings and appointments with brands.
Alongside bridal and menswear collections, BBFW 2027 will continue to highlight special, occasion, red carpet and accessories, responding to growing demand from international boutiques and distributors seeking comprehensive fashion offerings for celebrations and special events.
Within this context, BBFW will continue to serve as a key platform for showcasing the strength of Spanish bridal fashion. Spain, the world’s second-largest exporter of wedding dresses, has established itself as a global benchmark thanks to the quality, sophistication and original designs, as well as the artisanal expertise that defines many of its brands.
Three Nights of Bridal Fashion at MACBA
In 2027, the historic Barcelona Bridal Night evolves into a new format featuring three evening runway shows led by internationally renowned brands. Across three consecutive nights, the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) will host special presentations of these collections, bringing bridal creativity into the heart of the city and connecting it with design, architecture and culture.
Through this initiative, BBFW will showcase Barcelona to the world as the definitive stage for the trends that will shape the 2028 bridal and red-carpet seasons.
As a pilot project, the 2027 edition will introduce BBFW Talks, a new platform for knowledge-sharing and market insight featuring roundtables and debates led by leading and innovative voices from the bridal industry. The initiative has been created in response to growing demand from buyers, distributors and brands for specialised content and deeper industry analysis.
Celebrating Excellence and Emerging Talent
The BBFW Awards will return to honour excellence, sustainability and creativity across the international bridal industry.
BBFW will also continue supporting the next generation of talent through partnerships with leading fashion schools including ESDI, LCI Barcelona and IED Barcelona, creating opportunities for emerging designers to gain visibility within the industry.
BBFW is already preparing a new edition with the ambition of attracting leading buyers and opinion leaders from Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East. Following a record year for international participation in 2026, with more than 400 brands from 35 countries and 23,500 visitors, the event continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading gatherings for the bridal industry, while making Barcelona an essential destination for the brands and professionals shaping each season’s trends.
