Fira de Barcelona organises FiraCampusVirtual

Fira de Barcelona launches a digital platform called FiraCampusVirtual, due to the impossibility of holding the Ensenyament and Futura trade fairs due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. This initiative will take place from 20th to 24th May with the aim of allowing young people and students to be able to guide their professional future and learn about a wide range of academic courses at high school level, university degrees, higher education, artistic studies, vocational training, as well as masters and postgraduate courses.

The new platform will see the participation of the main universities, business schools and most important education private and public centres in Catalonia, which will announce their offer for the 2020-2021 academic year. Thus, with this virtual and interactive event, students will be able to choose which studies are most suited to their interests and where to study them.

Due to this exceptional situation, FiraCampusVirtual has been created as the digital platform of the Saló de l’Ensenyament and Futura trade fairs, which could not be held on the dates planned for last March due to the current context generated by the pandemic. Fira de Barcelona has developed this virtual event that will provide quick and intuitive access to all the information on university courses, professional training and master’s degrees that can be taken next year.

The director of FiraCampusVirtual, Laura Pararols, stressed that “we continue to be committed to our vocation of helping young people in making a key decision for their future”. In this regard, she guaranteed that “this initiative will not only bring together a great educational offer but will also provide students of between 15 and 20 years old the guidance of experts who will be able to solve their doubts through group or personalised talks”.

In this way, the platform will strengthen the guidance services and will be carried out in partnership with professionals who will be available to participants through chats, webinars and video calls. To this end, in addition to a personalised service that will directly attend to those who request it, group conferences will be held which can be attended by up to 500 people and in which the speakers will answer any possible doubts.

Similarly, the virtual event will facilitate contact between the attendees and the training centres to encourage dialogue between them and thus help students to choose the best path to continue their academic career and set their professional life on track.

It is expected that the Saló de l’Ensenyament and Futura trade fairs will be held again next year at the Montjuïc venue in its usual format.
