The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya closed 2025 with record activity and €46 M in revenue

The first year with Fira de Barcelona at the helm of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has closed 2025 with a very positive balance, reaching revenues of 46 million euros, 7% more than in 2024. The management taken over in January last year by Fira through the company Fira Circuit aims to boost and diversify the activity of the venue, which has registered an occupancy of 94% and more than 650,000 visitors, strengthening its role as a strategic infrastructure for the country.

Fira Circuit was established in 2024 as a result of an agreement between Fira de Barcelona and Circuits de Catalunya SL (CCSL), a company of the Government of Catalonia that owns the facilities, to promote this infrastructure, improve efficiency in its management and diversify its activity. The agreement entrusts the new company with the operation of the Circuit’s activity for 20 years and establishes in exchange the payment of a fee with a minimum guaranteed amount and a variable part depending on income.

Less than two weeks before the start of one of this year’s major championships, the Monster Energy Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix, Fira Circuit has approved the balance of its 2025 activity and results, making a very positive overall assessment.

The figures recorded in 2025 represent an increase of 3 million euros in revenue compared to 2024 and a profit before tax of 2.7 million. Likewise, Fira Circuit has paid an annual fee of 11.5 million euros to Circuits de Catalunya for the lease of the facilities, exceeding by 2.5 million euros the 9 million initially planned. These good results will be reinvested in diversification projects in accordance with the Strategic Plan and which, on the other hand, allow public contributions to be reduced.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fira de Barcelona and Fira Circuit, Pau Relat, stressed that “these results confirm the great work done in the management of a strategic infrastructure for the country. This encourages us to be ambitious in the future and, at the same time, commits us to strengthening the role of the Circuit as an economic and social driver of the territory and as an international benchmark venue.”

The General Manager of Fira, Constantí Serrallonga, highlights that “we have made a firm commitment to optimise the possibilities of the venue as much as possible, enhance financial and operational efficiency, and we have begun to diversify the events that are held. We want to continue this path towards excellence, modernization, innovation and sustainability.”

Great activity and attendance
These results have been accompanied by intense activity; in 2025 the Circuit was operational for 343 days, which represents an occupancy of 94%, the highest in the last decade. Sports competitions accounted for almost a third of the total, with 106 days, including Formula 1, MotoGP and other international competitions such as the European Le Mans Series. The remaining 237 days correspond to training, corporate days, concerts, driving courses, filming and presentations, a distribution that shows the versatility of the facilities.

As for the numbers of visitors, a total of 653,024 people attended the different events held at the venue. The most outstanding of all was the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA, with 300,286 spectators, followed by Monster Energy Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix, with 187,086. In addition to these events, other international competitions were held, but also activities beyond motorsport such as corporate days and cultural events.

In this regard, Ignasi Armengol, General Manager of Fira Circuit, stated that “the level of activity in the facilities in 2025 brings us almost to full occupancy. The goal now is to continue growing not only in the number of competitions and events but also in the expansion of activities and their typology.”

Diversification of events
One of the strategic objectives since Fira took over the management of the Circuit has been to expand the uses of the venue beyond motor competitions. In 2025 it registered a first example with the Afterlife Festival, an electronic music event with two stages that brought together more than twenty artists and 42,000 attendees over two days. In addition, more than 19 corporate meetings, events and non-motoring activities were held.

Along these lines, in 2025 an agreement was signed for the launch in 2026 of the CircuitX project, an innovation space promoted in collaboration with GSMA and Mobile World Capital Barcelona. The project brought together companies from the worlds of mobility, telecommunications, live entertainment and technology, and symbolises a new stage in the evolution of the Circuit as a benchmark in advanced connectivity, technological integration and comprehensive improvement of the track experience, placing the fan, safety and real-time data at the heart of the future of races and mass events.

More space
The Barcelona-Catalonia Circuit has also expanded its range of facilities in 2025 with the Garden Club. This ephemeral space of 1,700 m² distributed over three floors and located at a strategic point of the track – the last corner before the finish line – registered a great demand during the 2025 Grands Prix and will continue in 2026.

Sustainability and social projection
Another of the strategic pillars of the Circuit has been the commitment to sustainability. Throughout 2025, public transport has been promoted as the main access system and the use of electric vehicles has been encouraged by offering charging points within the venue. Moreover, in 2025 the track regained the top spot in the Sustainable Circuits Index™, a report that evaluates motor enclosures around the world and assesses both existing resources and progress in sustainability.

The Circuit has also participated in other charity events, such as the celebration of the Cheers4U or the Isidro Esteve Foundation Grand Prix.

2026 Forecasts
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya faces the remainder of 2026 with good prospects and forecasting increasing revenues. In addition to the Monster Energy Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix, the calendar features a total of 13 races, including the FORMULA 1 MSC CRUISES GRAN PREMIO DE BARCELONA-CATALUNYA, which will be held from June 12 to 14, the European Le Mans Series and the 24 hours of motor racing and motorcycling, among others. New this year is the celebration of the Ferrari Finali Mondiali, one of the most prestigious and eagerly awaited events by enthusiasts of motor and the legendary Italian brand alike, which will be held for the first time in Barcelona.
