Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week makes bridal fashion shine in its most ambitious edition

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) closed the doors this afternoon of an edition that brought together the elite of international bridal fashion. After five days of fashion shows and trade show, the renowned event strengthened its global leadership with one of its most ambitious editions in terms of brands participating and buyers coming from up to 80 countries.

BBFW, organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Catalan Ministry of Business and Labor, brought together more than 400 brands, 80% international, and drew nearly 23,000 visitors, 7% more than in 2023.

Among them, stood out the strategic buyers invited by the organization, 81% international and of high quality. They represent multi-brand stores and leading distributors, mainly from key markets such as Europe, USA, Japan, South Korea, Latin America, Southeast Asia and, as a novelty this year, Australia. The percentage of internationality of all BBFW visitors increased this year to over 76%.

Fashion on and off the catwalk
With almost all fashion shows packed to capacity, the BBFW catwalk was once again the center of attention. The collections of 37 national and international designers were presented, who mainly chose to combine tradition with a touch of avant-garde transgression.

In addition, this edition launched the “Barcelona Goes Bridal!” initiative, a large-scale reproduction that, as a representation of the bridal fashion industry cycle, placed a large rotating hanger 100 meters long and 6 meters high on Avenida Maria Cristina, where 150 dresses from 40 Catalan brands were on display, to bring the event closer to the city and support the promotion of local brands..

Giambattista Valli, star of the show
The haute couture firm Giambattista Valli chose the Barcelona event to present its bridal collection on a catwalk for the first time and in a world exclusive. It was during the Barcelona Bridal Night held at the Llotja de Mar and with more than 450 guests who were able to see the designs of its ‘Love Collection’.

The brand also took part in the trade show sharing the “Showroom Area’, the area of reserved for major international brands such as Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab, Stephane Rolland, or Viktor&Rolf, as well as other fully established designers such as Jenny Packham, Tony Ward or Ines Di Santo, joined for the first time in this edition by Georges Hobeika.

Awards for excellence in bridal fashion
The event held the second edition of the Barcelona Bridal & Fashion Awards, which honored excellence of the most outstanding firms of the year. Pnina Tornai, Sophie et Voilà, Mans, Jenny Packham, Yolancris and Vera Wang received the most significant awards during an event that had Randy Fenoli as an outstanding host.

The week dedicated to fashion for bridal, groom, party, ceremony and accessories will return from 23 to 27 April 2025 at Fira de Barcelona to present the bridal fashion collections for next season.
