Comic Barcelona fills Montjuïc with leading names from the world of comic art

The Montjuïc venue will host the 44th edition of Comic Barcelona from May 15 to 17, one of the must-attend events for comic book and graphic novel enthusiasts. This year, the event features internationally renowned guests and strengthens its cultural focus with an edition that incorporates new Asian creative trends.

Organized by Ficomic, this year’s convention expands the presence of the Asian pop scene with the participation of Hong Kong and South Korea, as well as hosting the K-Pop competition in Spain. It also reinforces its commitment to Asian audiovisual culture, with special attention given to the art of dubbing.

Over the course of the three-day event, the exhibition will showcase all the latest publishing releases and bring together leading international authors and artists such as Japanese creators Shintaro Kago and Ken Niimura, Spanish author Javier Rodríguez and Italian illustrator Milo Manara.

At the same time, the event continues to feature established spaces such as Comic Vision, focused on audiovisual media and the Cosplay Zone. The programme will also include talks, monographic exhibitions and signing sessions for the latest comics and graphic novels, once again reinforcing its family-friendly spirit with the Comic Kids area, aimed at children aged 5 to 12.
