Graphispag exhibits materials, graphic technology and finishes with Hispack to reactivate the printing industry

The printing and packaging industries are combining synergies with the joint celebration of the Graphispag and Hispack trade fairs, which will take place from 24 to 27 May at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue. Graphic services companies, brands, specifiers and sectors with printing needs will find the biggest offer of the year in materials, technology and finishes to create innovative, personalised, sustainable and high added value printed products.

Graphispag will highlight innovation in graphic processes and products as the main lever that will help to reactivate the activity of the Spanish graphic industry, which has lost dimension and profitability due to the pandemic and the increased digitalisation of communication. To this end, it will focus on the graphic specialities that are performing best: packaging, labels, publishing, commercial printing and retail, also presenting solutions for brands, specifiers and other sectors with printing needs.

Graphispag and Hispack will occupy three pavilions at the Gran Via exhibition centre and will bring together a total of more than 700 companies and 1,500 brands represented, creating the largest commercial platform for the printing, packaging, processing and logistics industry in Spain and Portugal, with the joint expectation of attracting around 40,000 visitors.

The largest offer
The commercial offer of interest to the graphics and printing sector will be divided between the two trade shows. Graphispag will occupy Hall 1 with around 120 companies from the printing, finishing, binding and converting machinery and technology, as well as substrates and consumables. Some of the confirmed brands are: Roland DG; Digidelta; Epson; Heidelberg; HP; OPQ Systems-Horizon; Soficat, MKM Comercial; EMG; Navigator; Sign-Tronic; Digitalprint; Pladurex Carpetería; PMA; Trotec Laser; Embagrap; Lamina System; Framuntechno, AOE Plastics and J.Pujol Maquinaria y Confección, among others.

Meanwhile, within Hispack – which fills two halls with 600 exhibitors – some 270 companies are exhibiting, including suppliers of materials, labelling equipment, industrial coding and marking, Point-of-Sale Advertising (POS), flexographic printing, premium packaging and cartons, labels, containers and packaging for various sectors, as well as industrial and e-commerce packaging solutions. Among the Hispack firms adding value to the Graphispag offer are Unión Papelera, Comart, Grupo Petit, Grupo DS Smith, Font Packaging, Cartonajes Miralles, Smurfit Kappa, Universal Sleeve, Enplater, Eticoll, Germark, Gráficas Salaet, Innovaciones Subbética, Ovelar, Novoprint, Flexomed, Truyol, Tot Display, Adaequo and Zedis, among others.

Thanks to this connection with Hispack, Graphispag will provide manufacturing brands from different industrial and consumer sectors and printers of  packaging, labels and POS with information ranging from digital printing equipment for short runs and personalisation of packaging, to new designs, shapes and finishes to stand out on the shelf; prototyping of packaging; incorporation of printed sensors to achieve intelligent packaging and labels or anti-counterfeiting systems, among others.

Printing applications for multiple industries
At the same time, Graphispag will be showing specific graphic solutions for the publishing world, design, advertising and large format, commercial and promotional printing, retail, decoration and interior design and industrial printing (textiles, automotive, ceramics, furniture), among many other sectors. Personalisation, colour, sustainability, digitisation of processes and stunning finishes to create graphic products with high added value will be the protagonists.

In this sense, Graphispag will create within the stand area an area of applications and finished graphic products, provided by exhibitors and printers, who will explain the process, technique and materials used in each job. Thus, in this educational showroom – which will be decorated by the renowned designer of ephemeral spaces Blai Puig – the public will be able to see first-hand real printing applications in these sectors.

Knowledge area
As part of its training programme, Graphispag is offering around twenty conferences and round tables designed to enable printers to update their knowledge and find inspiration to innovate, expand their catalogue of graphic services and grow their businesses.
There will be two types of topics. On the one hand, experts from brands supplying machinery and media and printing companies or users of graphic services will talk, among other topics, about sustainability in graphic products and processes, finishing technology, personalisation, printing on demand in the publishing world, applications of large-format digital printing, business models or web-to-print. Heildelberg, OQ Chemicals, Epson, Roland, the Federation of National Associations of Publishing Distributors (FANDE) and McCann are some of the companies and organisations collaborating with content and speakers at the conference.

On the other hand, Graphispag will feature sessions by experts in management, motivation, entrepreneurship and business leadership to provide optimism to graphics professionals at a key moment to relaunch their activity. Speakers in this field include Víctor Kuppers and Álex Rovira. Graphispag will also host technical conferences, meetings and assemblies organised by business associations and professional bodies linked to the graphics and visual communication industry. The Anuaria Graphic Design Awards Ceremony will also be held.

Sectoral support
At this edition Graphispag has renewed its traditional collaboration agreements with around 60 organisations, printing guilds and professional associations linked to the graphics industry and visual communication, both in terms of supply and demand, which collaborate in the dissemination and promotion of the fair and its activities, as well as in the preparation of its training programme. This broad sectoral backing once again confirms Graphispag as a benchmark trade fair for those who print and communicate, as well as the interest aroused by the synergies with Hispack in order to meet up again to find out about new developments, exchange experiences and share information.
