The world’s leading congress in technology and connectivity expects to attract more than 100,000 visitors
MWC Barcelona celebrates its 20th anniversary
From March 2 to 5, the Gran Via venue will host the twentieth edition of MWC Barcelona. The event will feature 2,900 companies and is expected to welcome more than 100,000 visitors from over 250 countries. According to GSMA, the organiser of the event, this year’s edition is estimated to generate a record economic impact of 585 million euros, 4.5% more than last year.
Over four days, the congress will focus on the applications of artificial intelligence, robotics, low-altitude space industry, and the latest advances in connectivity. Among the main highlights of this edition is the New Frontiers space, dedicated to emerging technologies such as quantum computing, AI-powered robotics and non-terrestrial communications. The Airport of the Future will also be introduced as an immersive experience in Hall 2 that will showcase how the airport and air transport sector are evolving through new digital solutions.
This year’s program will bring together top international speakers. Notable names include Gwynne Shotwell, President of SpaceX, and Michael Nicolls, Vice President of Engineering at Starlink, along with other key figures from the digital and telecommunications industries.
Running alongside the main event will be 4YFN, the leading gathering for startups, entrepreneurs, and investors within the digital ecosystem. It will also coincide for the second consecutive year with Talent Arena, featuring an expanded program aimed at boosting the city’s digital talent.
For the first time, the congress will include CircuitX, a pre-event day taking place on Sunday, March 1, at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The event will showcase innovative solutions in smart mobility and technological applications designed for major sporting events.
