This afternoon, the fifteenth Automobile Barcelona awards organised by Fira de Barcelona together with El Periódico were presented at the Montjuïc venue. On this occasion, the organisation has awarded MG, Seat, Leapmotor, Mobilize, Omoda-Jaecoo and Alejandro Mesonero for their contribution to the promotion of the automotive sector and for initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability in the field of mobility.
The president of the show, Enrique Lacalle, stressed that: “these awards express the spirit of the show since its birth: the passion for innovating and making better cars. Automobile Barcelona wants to recognise brands and people who are committed to an automotive industry that continues to be the engine of our society. An increasingly powerful and sustainable engine at the same time.”
The first award, Be Green, went to MG for its commitment and perseverance in the development of hybrid technology.
In the Be History category, the award went to Seat on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. The Show thus recognises a firm that has played a role in the democratisation of the car in Spain and that continues to be synonymous with innovation in the sector.
The third prize, Be Market, went to the Leapmotor brand, belonging to the Stellantis Group, for its rapid and successful emergence into the market.
The fourth award, corresponding to the Be Mobility category, went to Mobilize, a brand belonging to Renault, for its decisive drive for sustainable mobility.
In the technological section, Omoda-Jaecoo has won the Be Technology award, for the commitment of the Chery group firms to SHS (Super Hybrid System) technology in their plug-in hybrid models.
Finally, the 2025 edition of the Automobile Barcelona Awards also wanted to recognise Alejandro Mesonero, current vice-president of design at Alfa Romeo, for his professional career and contribution to the promotion of new aesthetic languages.
