Fira de Barcelona begins the renovation of the CC2 convention centre on Gran Via

The CC2 convention centre at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue has begun refurbishment work to modernise its facilities. The renovation work is scheduled to be completed in early 2026 and aims to expand the capacity and versatility of this space integrated into Hall 2 and built in 1995.

After the renovation, the CC2 will go from having 8 conference and meeting rooms to 13 rooms and an auditorium, and will add an exhibition area of 5,000 m2 for the first time. This new area will be enabled thanks to the installation of mobile panels that will allow a part of pavilion 2 to be delimited.

The space will thus have a total of 9,000 m2, exclusive access for attendees, an auditorium with a capacity for 465 people, thirteen parallel rooms with capacities ranging from 30 to 180 people, four multipurpose lobbies, a private car park and direct access to line 9 Sud of the Barcelona metro.

With this refurbishment, Fira de Barcelona reinforces its commitment to offering modern, flexible infrastructures adapted to the current needs of the trade fair sector and opens the door to a new market segment. Until now, most of the events hosted by the Gran Via venue had a minimum attendance of 2,000 people, but with the new CC2 it will be possible to host conventions from 500 people, thus offering greater versatility and new commercial opportunities.
