The exhibition space will increase by 23%, from 11,000 m² in 2025 to 13,500 m² in the next edition
Construmat continues to grow and will spread over two halls at the Gran Via venue in 2027
Fira de Barcelona’s International Construction Exhibition, Construmat, is already preparing its upcoming edition, scheduled for 18 to 20 May 2027, to once again establish itself as the leading trade show for the construction industry in Spain and the Mediterranean arc. The event expects to increase its net exhibition space by 23% and bring together more than 400 exhibitors in Halls 6 and 7 of the Gran Via venue.
Under the theme “Building Sustainability”, Construmat 2027 will grow in representation, offerings, and international reach, while also strengthening its commitment to industrialised construction, sustainability, and addressing housing shortages.
The strong support of companies and professionals has driven the show’s sustained growth in both exhibitor numbers and exhibition space throughout its past editions. To maintain this momentum, the event is expanding its exhibition area from one to two halls, and the 25th edition of Construmat will be held in Halls 6 and 7 of the Gran Via venue, with more than 13,500 m² of net floor space—a 23% increase over the 11,000 m² of the 2025 edition.
The President of Construmat and APCEspaña, Xavier Vilajoana, stressed that ‘the growth of the show reflects the success of a format that seeks to respond to the real needs of the sector and the dynamism of the construction industry in our country, as well as the need for exhibition spaces such as ours that promote innovation, sustainability and collaboration between companies and professionals’.
Sectors represented and confirmed companies
Organised by Fira de Barcelona for more than 40 years, Construmat will strengthen its role as a major national and international commercial platform in 2027, focusing on industrialised construction, sustainability and efficiency improvement, showcasing the latest developments in sectors such as industrialised construction, insulation, windows, walls, structures, facades and roofs, machinery, tools, equipment, flooring and bathroom fittings, among other areas.
The organisers expect to host over 400 exhibitors (350 in 2025) in one of the best and most comprehensive editions in recent years, bringing together a wide range of multi-sector and cross-cutting offerings from the construction industry.
With still a year and a half to go, the next edition of Construmat has already confirmed the participation of leading companies such as Alsina, Cosentino, Deceuninck, Efapel, Evowall, Exlabesa, Fassa Bortolo, Fischer, GrecoGres, Indalsu, Jung, K-Line, Mapei, Molins, Roca,Technal or Tejas Borja.
In addition, the exhibition has the support of over 140 industry associations and organisations such as the Association of Developers and Builders of Spain (APCEspaña), the Higher Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain (CSCAE), the General Council of Technical Architecture of Spain (CGATE), the Barcelona Association of Technical Architects (CATEB) and the Association of Architects of Catalonia (COAC), making it the largest showcase for the Spanish construction ecosystem.
The Director of the event, Roger Bou, pointed out that ‘we are designing a show in close collaboration with the main companies and entities so that Construmat 2027 will be a key edition in the consolidation of industrialised construction as a driving force for transformation in a sector that is fundamental to the national and international economy’.
With the aim of bolstering its position as a benchmark event in the Mediterranean region and continuing to increase opportunities in new markets, Construmat will feature an International Buyer Programme targeting countries such as France, Greece, Italy, Morocco and Portugal, as well as North Africa and the United Arab Emirates, where Artificial Intelligence applied to construction is highly developed.
Knowledge and sustainability
Complementing its comprehensive commercial offer, Construmat will once again feature a relevant programme of activities. Highlights will include the Sustainable Building Congress sessions, a meeting point for architects, engineers and developers with a programme focused on solutions for sustainable construction, technological innovation and new industrialised construction systems.
Along the same lines, the show will bring together the most disruptive start-ups in the sector to present their technological solutions aimed at optimising processes, reducing costs and improving efficiency in the sector.
Construmat and Barcelona, World Capital of Architecture
As a prelude to the 2027 edition, Construmat will organise several activities in 2026 as part of Barcelona’s status as World Capital of Architecture to bring the construction sector closer to the public.
In collaboration with the Construction Labour Foundation, a platform for practical demonstrations will be set up in an emblematic location in Barcelona to highlight the importance of safety and professionalism in works at height.
A series of guided tours led by World Wood Future will also be organised for both professionals and general public aimed at highlighting some of the best buildings constructed in wood or eco-sustainable materials in Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
In addition, Construmat will invite industry players such as architects and engineers, among others, to tour throughout the year the industrial facilities of various companies sponsoring and exhibiting at the show.
