The Padel World Summit will address the key elements for the Olympic future of this sport

30 million players worldwide, 600,000 federated and 87 national associations adhered to the International Padel Federation (FIP). These are three facts that prove the strength of a sport that has a great challenge on its horizon: Become part of the official program of the Olympic Games. This goal will be among the major topics of the Padel Global Conference, the Padel World Summit’s (PWS) congress, an event hat will take place from May 27 to 29 at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona and the International Padel Cluster, the PWS is the benchmark show to promote and strengthen the business opportunities offered by this sport, one of the fastest growing in the world in recent years. It will have an exhibition area with over 150 companies, an investment forum, a networking space, eight paddle tennis courts for exhibition matches and the Padel Global Conference.

This forum with more than a hundred international speakers and experts will address the main future challenges for professionals in this sport. Highlighted sessions include a conference with Eric Babolat, CEO of Babolat, one of the most prestigious companies in the world specialized in the manufacture of padel rackets and tennis rackets, focusing on the possible inclusion of padel in the program of the Brisbane Olympic Games in 2032.

Clubs and professionalization
Building an critical mass of players through new Club development will be discussed by Sebastian Gordon, co-founder of Rocket Padel, a company that has created several padel clubs in the United Kingdom including Bristol, the biggest in the country, while Gabriel Pérez Krieb, president of Taktika Equity, the largest padel investment fund in the United States, will analyse the key elements of growth and professionalization of this sport.

For her part, Ana Gómez, marketing director at AFP Group, Adidas’ licensee for padel, will present the global expansion strategy of this brand.

The Padel World Summit, which will be held in Hall 6 of the Gran Via venue, expects to welcome more than 6,000 professional visitors from all over the world, thus making Barcelona the global capital of this sport.
