IoT Solutions World Congress creates an Advisory Committee with 12 leading companies

The newly launched Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions World Congress has announced the establishment of an Advisory Committee that will oversee the contents and scientific approach of the event held in Barcelona from September 16th to 18th. This new body will comprise 12 representatives from the leading Industrial Internet companies as well as representatives of the Industrial internet Consortium, the sector’s leading international association.

The members of the Committee are Prith Banerjee, Managing Director of Global Technology Research and Development at Accenture; Jacques Durand, Director of Research and Development at Fujitsu America Inc.; Joseph J. Salvo, Director of Global Research at General Electric and Founder of the Industrial Internet Consortium; Brian Dalgetty, Director of Marketing at IBM Analytics Business Unit; Richard M. Soley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of OMG and Executive Director of the Industrial Internet Consortium; Jeff Fedders, IoT Standards Chief Strategist at Intel; Stan Schneider, CEO at Real-Time Innovations; Michael Lynch, Global Co-Lead, Internet of Things at SAP; Karthik Natarajan, Global Head, Integrated Engineering Solutions at Tech Mahindra; and Francisco Jariego, Director of Industrial IoT at Telefonica.

As the IoT will affect all industries in the future, the IoT Solutions World Congress has aimed to form a board of experts capable of representing the diversity of this new economic sector including construction, manufacturing, hospitality, energy, transportation, logistics, infrastructure, agriculture and healthcare.

A new industrial horizon
Industry as we know it is changing and the World with it. IoT will become a major driver of this transformation and players in the global industrial scenario are already aware and according to a survey conducted by the World Economic Forum, 72% of company executives believe the Industrial Internet will be disruptive. Furthermore, Industrial IoT will produce 14 trillion USD of economic value by 2030, according to Accenture.

Fira de Barcelona is organizing the event in partnership with the Industrial Internet Consortium to bring together organizations and technology developers with the goal of accelerating the growth, adoption, and widespread use of industrial IoT. The IoT Solutions World Congres will not only showcase the most innovative applications of the Internet of Things to the industrial sector but will also discuss through a comprehensive conference programme how this technology is going to transform the global economy.
