Richard Florida, Kent Larson y Amory Lovins will be the 3 keynote speakers
Over 300 speakers will take part in Smart City Expo 2013
The third edition of Smart City Expo World Congress, which will be held from November 19th to 21st in Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via Exhibition Centre, will bring together some of the leading thinkers and experts on urban planning. The list of 300 participants includes the following keynote speakers: Richard Florida, economist and expert in urban development; Amory Lovins, environmental scientist and chief researcher at the Rocky Mountain Institute; and Kent Larson, Director of the Changing Places research group at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
The congress programme of the third Smart City Expo World Congress includes many other leading international speakers, such as Anthony Townsend, Research Director at the Institute for the Future (USA); David Bragdon, Executive Director of the Transit Center and former Director of New York City’s Long Term Planning Office; Melanie Nutter, Director of the San Francisco Department of the Environment; Amitabh Kant, Director of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation; and Colette Maloney, Head of Unit – Smart Cities and Sustainability, European Commission.
They will all bring their ideas and expertise in the collective challenge of transforming existing cities into places capable of sustainable absorption and management of growing populations, from economic, social and environmental standpoints.
